Valencia K. Campbell

Attorney

Biography

Valencia is a born leader. Don’t just take our word for it, the State Bar of Texas has selected her for its 2021-2022 LeadershipSBOT Program. Essentially a bootcamp for rising stars, this program helps its members develop ways to better serve their profession and their communities.

“I’ve always been driven to help people, and I’ve got a degree in social work to prove it,” says Valencia. “Once I began studying the law, it became clear to me that family law and I were made for each other. The people we serve are often at a very fraught period in their lives. It’s so rewarding to use my skills, my experience, my training, and the law itself to help clients turn bad times into a better life and a brighter future.”

Valencia graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Social Work degree. A regular on the school’s dean’s list, she was also a member of the Phi Kappa Phi, Alpha Lambda Delta, and Phi Eta Sigma Honor Societies.

She earned her Juris Doctor at Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law. While there, she worked as a legal intern at Lennox International where she learned to navigate the intricacies of labor and employment contracts and litigation.

Valencia’s on-the-job training continued with her role as Student Attorney, Chief Counsel at SMU’s Vansickle Family Law Clinic.

After graduation, she gained valuable experience as an associate attorney at two smaller North Texas law firms.
